Cloth Diapers

I just had my last child ( or so I hope ). I have never used cloth before but decided to give them a shot this time around. I love how many different prints and fabrics you can use. This is what first attracted me to cloth diapers. I spent my pregnancy trying to learn about this so foreign idea. I don't know anyone in person who does it. Any time I mention cloth I get weird looks, don't do it, or I could never do it. I never had a positive reaction. I was not deterred. Youtube.com helped a lot and joining cloth diaper forums. So not long before my last child arrived we finally bought a 2 pack of Gdiapers at BRU. I almost chickened out. What if we buy them and don't even try them or worse try them and hate it ?

Fast forward to birth. We decided to use disposables through the newborn stage especially with meconium. 4-6 weeks fly by and I'm always thinking we need to get this on the road or give the idea up. So I found a mom on facebook who makes starter packages through a mutual friend. I also bought a cloth diaper safe detergent. Yes cloth needs a different detergent then most use on their clothes as those can build up in your diaper and cause repelling. I didn't mind. Its a natural detergent and safe for the environment. YAY green LOL

We started only using cloth during the day and slowly worked to full time. I have actually enjoyed this more then I thought. It's very easy and only really one more step then disposables. ( lots of chemicals in those disposables ) We've had small hurdles to climb over but we're solving them fast.. I have hard water so we had some trouble shooting on washing routine. Now everything is peachy.

There are many ways to buy CD's ( cloth diapers). Commercial diapers like Fuzzibunz, bum genius, kissaluvs, gdiapers, ect at stores or online. My favorite diapers, WAHM ( work at home moms ) diapers which there are too many to name but you can find them on cafemom cuties with cloth booties and hyenacart under cloth diapers and congos...
